In today's updated version of BetterMouse, there's a new 'exceptions' tab: Click the '+' button to add a new app exception: Then you can set the bindings for that app exceptionally. If you're a Master 3 user, you can now use the thumbwheel to perform the zoom/pinch gesture. Now BetterMouse has app-specific settings supported. The main upgrade this time is the zoom/pinch support, and the setting save/load feature. However, this hidden button is only a by-product of today's update. Despite these limitations, it's still a pretty practical feature due to its effortlessness and location, we believe our users surely will make some creative usage out of it. Also, you may wonder since you need to touch it every time you scroll the wheel, how can it distinguishes what you want? Well, that's why this special button can only be triggered by a tap, you can't assign a gesture to it which requires a press-hold-release procedure. Personally, I assign it to force click currently, aka look up. I have no idea completely why Logi stuff such a thing in their mouse, I can't even think of a use case to have that sensor utilized. The mystery mouse click problems, strange mouse click behavior, random clicks being ignored, and other similar behavior are being actively discussed on both and reddit, so if you are experiencing issues with mouse clicks not working as. The touch sensor I can understand, although Logi hasn't implemented any use case for it in its Options+ app, it's the underlying support to mark the beginning and end of a scroll, to obtain some fancier scroll effect. The mouse click issues can happen with any apps, whether the Finder or bundled apps, to Apple apps, to Chrome, third party apps, or others. But that's not all, it's equipped with a touch sensor too, along with even a proximity sensor! The thumbwheel has a hi-res mode, which has a 6.66x ratchet density of the normal mode, resulting in a butter-smooth scrolling response. Until recently, I haven't realized how much more advanced the thumbwheel of Master 3 is, compared to its predecessors, when I started working on it for BetterMouse. ![]()
